Fire-Emergency Medical Services


The Winchester Fire-Emergency Medical Services is responsible for:

  • Fire suppression
  • Emergency Medical Services (ambulance services) to all of Clark County.
  • Fire prevention
  • Public education
  • Fire inspection
  • Fire investigation
  • Rescue
  • Hazardous materials response

These emergency services are delivered from three stations located in the city.

As a member of the Bluegrass Emergency Response Team, the department provides hazardous materials response to an 11 County area.


The department provides child safety seat checks, installation, and education for the owners, CPR / Automated External Defibrillator (AED) classes, and Project Lifesaver (a tracking system for persons who may wander due to medical conditions) services.
