Required Documents:
  • Site plan drawn to scale showing:
    • Dimensions
    • Easements
    • Elevations from curb (minimum 2% FFE)
    • Driveway
    • Outbuildings
    • Flood Plain (if applicable)
  • Proof of insurance (contractor and electrician)
  • Proof of City business license (only within the city limits)
  • Septic approval (if applicable)
  • Construction plans
  • Engineer design (when required)
  • Application completed in full (incomplete applications will not be processed)

  • Application must be completed in full
  • Total square footage:
    • Finished square footage (living space)
    • Unfinished square footage (garage and basement)
  • Foundation:
    • Wall height
    • Maximum height of unbalanced fill
    • Wall type (block or concrete) and thickness
    • Specify either slab, crawl, or basement
  • Framing:
    • Floor joist type and size
    • Floor sheathing type and size
    • Girder type and size
    • Column spacing
    • Stud size
    • Roof type (conventional or engineered)
    • Ceiling joist size
    • Rafter size
    • Roof sheathing (type and size)
  • Insulation:
    • Energy Code Package number
  • Mechanical:
    • Heating type (gas, electric, geothermal, or other) and BTU's
    • Installation location (attic, crawl, or other)
  • Interior covering and fire separation (if applicable)
  • Exterior sheathing (type and size)
  • Exterior covering (type)
