(May 27, 2015) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that this advisory serves as an update for the US 60/Lexington Avenue project in Clark County. Currently – • work will continue during the next several weeks for removal/replacement of curb, sidewalk and entrances between Hays Street and Maple Street o motorists should expect flaggers to be present in this section of the project Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday, June 3 – reconstruction of pavement between Breeze Hill Drive and Daytona Drive • westbound/outbound traffic will be detoured around the loop of Breeze Hill Drive and Daytona Drive o eastbound/inbound traffic will be unaffected o law enforcement will be onsite 24 hours during this time Friday, June 5 – removal/replacement of the pavement structure of the roadway will begin between Lindberg Avenue and Breeze Hill Drive • Lexington Avenue will become one-way between Lindberg Avenue (slightly west of Waveland Avenue) to Breeze Hill Drive o this will be one-way westbound/out of town • eastbound/inbound traffic will be directed to Interstate 64 and Exit 96 • signage for the detour and message boards will be in place indicating the changes • traffic is anticipated to be in the above noted configuration for approximately four (4) weeks • once this section is complete, pavement removal/replacement operations will move east (toward town) Ongoing – • day and night work will continue Mondays through Saturdays • access will be maintained to side streets and entrances • all other sections of Lexington Avenue will be two-way • work will continue during this time between Hays Street and Maple Street with flaggers present • final dressing (preparation for sod) and installation of sod will continue throughout the remainder of the project • information will be provided on additional phases as the time approaches All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
