Banking |
Banking in Winchester in the early 1980s would mirror nearly every community in the Commonwealth. There were three commercial banks and two savings and loan associations, all locally owned and offering a basic menu of traditional services.
Today Winchester has 10 banks totalling 18 locations, and two additional financial institutions with two locations.

Churches and Community Service |
There are several community service groups that always invite new members. Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Winchester, Winchester/Clark Co. Literacy Council, Clark County Association for Handicapped Citizens, Rotary, and Lions Club are all located in Winchester. Also there are 51 Protestant churches in Clark County along with 1 Catholic church.

Health Care |
In Winchester, the Clark County Health Department/
Home Health Agency and Clark Regional Medical Center provide community health care services. The Winchester Centre for Health and Rehabilitation is also available. In addition, seven general hospitals and four special service hospitals are available in nearby Lexington.

Local Activities and Organizations |
Winchester has a wide variety of activities available to it, both in Winchester and in the surrounding areas. The YMCA, Scouting, Leeds Center for the Arts, Clark County Public Library, 4-H, Gymnastics, Sports Leagues, Horseback Riding, bowling, and movies can all be enjoyed in Winchester.

Agriculture |
Much of western Clark County is characterized by gently rolling Bluegrass terrain, the central section of the county is characterized by irregular ridges and narrow valleys, and eastern Clark County enjoys the scenic beauty created by steeper and more rugged terrain. There are many real estate companies representing Clark County. Among these are 3 nationally networked real estate offices. The remaining companies are independent local agencies.
